Attendant Care Assessments are typically conducted following injury or illness to identify areas where a patient may need in-home support to ensure continued safety and quality of life.

During an Attendant Care Assessment, a medical professional will identify the patient’s current level of ability when performing primary personal care (e.g., eating, grooming, and dressing) and more complex tasks, such as exercise, medication administration, and financial planning. Then, they will recommend appropriate in-home care strategies, such as assistance from a caregiver or the provision of aids and appliances designed to facilitate independent living.
